In this article I will give WordPress tutorials on how to add the wordpress plugin and theme via FileZilla. Because not all wordpress themes can be downloaded through the wordpress dashboard, as well as the plugin. Sometimes we get a theme or plugin that is good for developing blogs through other sources that have not been registered in wordpress. Or if we want to use the premium themes or plugins commercial, we must upload first to the hosting that we use. If you do not have the program FileZilla, please download here. This program you can use for free. If you’ve installed FileZilla on your computer, please open the FileZilla application and enter the host, username and password than you use in your hosting.
Host is your blog URL which is the main domain on your hosting. URL example is http://yourdomain.com. of course you need to replace yourdomain with the domain name you use. Enter your username and password is you use to log into Cpanel Hosting. To Port can be empty if you do not know. If you have entered all the data you need, please click the “Quickconnect” located on the right.
If the login process is complete, you will see the contents of folders and files in your hosting. Your next search folder “public_html” and double click on the folder, and find the folder “wp-content” which is a folder to store your plugins and themes. If you want to upload the plugin, double click on the folder plugins until you see a collection of plugins there. Then on the left side, find the plugin you want to upload, do not forget to extract it before you do upload your plugin files.
To begin uploading, click on your plugin folder, and drag to the right. Then upload process will occur. You can see the upload process at the bottom, like the image below:
You can see which files are transferred, the file transfer failed and the successful file transfer. You can repeat the steps above to upload the other plugins. So, too, if you want to upload themes, you must open the themes folder on the right, and follow the instructions above.
If the upload process is complete, please log into your wordpress is http://domain.com/wp-admin. When you are in your dashboard, you search for “Plugin” on the left and click on it. it will show plugins that you have previous upload. to activate the plugin you simply click on the word “activate” at the bottom of the plugin you want to enable. to make settings in the plugin, you can see it under “Settings” and click on the plugin you want to set. You can also apply it to other plugins. You should remember is, you must first enable the plugin to be able to change Setting.
